Politics Leaked Memo Reveals Oyo-Ita Warned Buhari About Maina But He Didn't Listen

A leaked memo by Head of Service, Winnifred Oyo-Ita has revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari knew about the re-appointment of ex-pension reform boss Abdulrasheed Maina into the civil service, and was warned about the implications to his anti-corruption war.  It seems the president turned deaf ears to the warnings. Her memo was sent to the Chief of Staff to the President, Mr. Abba Kyari. It was dated October 23. Part of it says: “Further to your letter Ref. SH/COS/100/A/1570 dated 23rd October, 2017 on the above subject matter, I write to inform you of the circumstances leading to the irregular recall of Mr. Abdulrasheed Abdullahi Maina. “I wrote to place on record the following facts as it permits to Mr. A. The Presidency has reacted to those asking why President Muhammadu Buhari did not order the prosecution of the sacked Secretary General of the Federation, Babachir Lawal and the NIA DG, Ayodele Oke. In a response by the Presidency Office of Digital Engagement (PODE) on Twitter, it stated that it is not the duty of Mr. President to prosecute Babachir Lawal and other. Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta has won the Presidential rerun with slightly more than 98 per cent of the total votes. The head of the election commission made the announcement on Monday. President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday met behind closed door with visiting President Alassane Quattara of Cote D’Ivoire at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Wife of the former governor of Gombe state, Hajiya Yelwa Mohammed Danjuma Goje died this morning at the age of 55. Yelwa, according to a statement by Ahmed Mohammed Goje (Son) died at a Hospital in the United States of America. "With gratitude to Allah (SWT), I regret to announce the death of Her Excellency, Hajiya Yelwa Danjuma Goje, wife of the former Governor of Gombe State, Senator Mohammed Danjuma Goje. " Aged 55, she died in a Hospital in the United States of America. She is survived by her husband, Senator Goje, six children, 10 grandchildren, many relatives, supporters and admirers," it reads. The House of Representatives Speaker Yakubu Dogara has constituted the ad-hoc committee to investigate reinstatement of the former chairman of Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, Abdulrasheed Maina. The ad-hoc panel, comprising 10 members, is headed by Aliyu Sani Madaki (APC, Kano). Other members of the panel are 2. Jagaba Adams Jagaba, 3. Abubakar Danburam Nuhu, 4. Ayo Omidiran, 5. Solomon Adeolu, 6. Kingsley Chinda, 7. Yunusa Abubakar, 8. Timothy Golu, 9. Kehinde Odeneye Olusegun and 10. Sergius Oseasochie Ogun. Metro ECOWAS Court Orders FG To Pay N88bn As Damages To Civil War Victims

The ECOWAS court on Monday granted an out of court settlement application for a case involving the federal government and nine victims of the Nigerian civil war. The chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu has said that the commission is determined to pursue the case against embattled former Chairman of the defunct Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, Mr Abdulrasheed Maina to a conclusive end. Mr. Magu stated this while speaking on Channels Television’s Programme, Sunrise Daily on Monday. He said the commission has commenced the renewed investigation and will pursue the case to the end. “We are determined to get to the root of this matter. That’s why we have renewed the investigation. We will retrieve all properties or whatever must have been stolen from public funds. “This is something that we have done as far back as 2011. The matter has been in court, and Maina was also charged before the court.
