Politics Ibrahim Magu: Cabal Bought Exotic Houses Abroad in My Name

The chairman of the Economic Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has raised an alarm, alleging that a cabal has bought houses abroad in his name in a bid to discredit him.  EFCC Spokesman Wilson Uwujaren alleged that “shadowy interests at the receiving end” of EFCC's anti-corruption war as those behind the move. “Those behind the plot, which is believed to be part of a grand design to discredit the anti-graft czar, have allegedly finalised plans to name Magu as the owner of choice properties in exotic locations abroad. “The commission has information that the desperate cabal could take their gambit to the ridiculous extent of purchasing properties and registering them in the name of Ibrahim Magu to make the plot believable. “They are also prepared to sponsor some political hirelings who would come out openly to claim they have information about the property acquisitions.” “The commission, however, wishes to alert the public that Magu has no interest in any property whatsoever outsi...

Business Northern Oil Exploration Will Generate 1 Million Jobs for Benue Citizens- NNPC

The Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Maikanti Baru, has stated that the oil exploration and biofuel projects in Benue state will generate up to one million jobs for citizens of the area.  He mentioned this when he paid a visit to the governor of the state on Wednesday. He said his visit is to officially "kick-start the beginning of a high profile stakeholder engagement with a view to actualising the two critical projects which are expected to launch Benue into the league of oil producing States.” He added that “due to encouraging results of previous geological studies, basin modeling, aeromagnetic, ground gravity and surface geochemistry surveys, success of ongoing acquisition of seismic data in the Benue Trough will lead to the drilling of oil wells in the State.” He also noted that a contractor, Integrated Data Services Ltd, IDSL, would be going round to carry out a seismic acquisition campaign with heavy equipment where th...

Metro How Jide Tinubu Died- Family Member

Ahmed Bola Tinubu, a stalwart of the All Progressive Congress, APC, on Tuesday lost his first son, Jide Tinubu.  According to a family member, Jide's death was unexpected. He suddenly collapsed and died from what was suspected to be a heart attack around 9 pm on Tuesday. “However, after the incidence, close family members rushed him down to hospital on Lagos Island where he was confirmed dead on arrival,” the person said. He added that the tragic news was kept secret because the father, Bola Tinubu, was in Abuja for the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of his party, the APC. Attached Files:

Metro Jide Tinubu, First Son Of APC Chieftain Bola Tinubu, Is Dead

Jide Tinubu, son of the national leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu is dead. In a tweet by @APCUKingdom, the party prayed for the repose of the soul of the son of the national leader of the ruling APC. “It’s with regrets that we inform Nigerians of the demise of Mr. Jide Tinubu, the Son of Our dear and esteemed Leader,  @AsiwajuTinubu . RIP”. The tweet is sequel to the letter from the chairman of the party in Lagos State, Mr. Otunba Ajomole, to the party, which reads: “It’s with regrets that I inform you of the demise of Mr. Jide Tinubu, the son of our dear esteemed leader, Asiwaju Nola Ahmed Tinubu” “Please commiserate with him”. Late Jide is a law graduate of the University of Liverpool, England. He obtained a Masters degree in Maritime Law from the University of London and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1999. Sports Messi Out Of Super Eagles Friendly

Argentina captain Lionel Messi will not play against the Super Eagles when both sides clash in an international friendly on November 14. However, Messi will play the friendly against Russia on November 11 at the reopening of the Luzhnikí stadium in Moscow. Argentina coaching crew, headed by Jorge Sampaoli, will allow the striker fly out of Moscow after the first friendly, to get enough time to rest before returning to club duties. The rest of the Argentina squad will head to Krasnodar, where they will play against Nigeria on November 14.

Politics Metuh's Witness: Court Strikes Out Jonathan's Application

The Federal High Court in Abuja has struck out the applications by former President Goodluck Jonathan against the subpoenas ordering him to appear to testify in defence of a former National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh. The trial judge, Justice Okon Abang, held that he had no jurisdiction to entertain Jonathan’s application challenging the subpoena since the (the ex-President) had yet to be served with the court’s subpoena directing him to appear in court. Politics Nigeria: 3 PDP Lawmakers Set To Decamp

The opposition of Peoples Democratic Party in the National Assembly is set to reduce further as three of its members in the House of Representatives set to move to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA. The lawmakers are Johnson Agbonayinma from Edo State, who was a strong supporter of the erstwhile PDP chairman, Ali Modu-Sheriff, Nnanna Igbokwe from Imo State, and Ben Nwankwo from Anambra State, who got to the House through the judgement of the Supreme Court. While Messrs. Agbonayinma and Igbokwe are defecting to the APC, Mr. Nwankwo has already publicly declared for APGA, Anambra’s ruling party. One of them, Nwankwo confirmed to Premium Times that he had decamped to APGA but was yet to declare formally on the floor of the House. “I have decamped to APGA in Anambra and we are working for (Governor) Willie Obiano’s reelection,” he said. “I’m yet to inform the House officially of my decision” he said.

Politics Anambra Election: Monarch Threatens To Unleash gods on APC

A traditional ruler in Anambra state, Ogirisi Igbo Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka, has threatened to unleash a traditional deity, Ogirisi against the All Progressives Congress, APC, if they attempt to rig the November 18 Anambra governorship election. Ezeonwuka, who is a Board of Trustees (BoT) member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance issued the threat while reacting to APC’s boast that the party will unseat the APGA government. In a statement, Ezeonwuka said election riggers would have the electorate who are vested with Ogirisi powers to contend with, stressing that the wrath of the gods of the land are stronger and the enemies of the state. He maintained that Governor Willie Obiano of APGA will win at the poll because his good works will speak for him.
