The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, National Caretaker Committee, Senator Ahmed Makarfi has reveled why the party under Former President Goodluck Jonathan lost the 2015 presidential electio. He listed the reasons as follows: 1. The party was not communicating well with the electorates. 2. He said other factors that led to the party losing the Presidential seat was because it forwarded Jonathan for a second term instead of fielding a northern candidate. 3. There was a lot of propaganda against the party then and that the party failed to dilute the propaganda, the consequences which saw them packing from the Aso Villa. 4. Metro Former Militants Protest Unpaid Monthly Allowance in Benin [PHOTOS]

Former militants are currently protesting in Benin, Edo state over their unpaid monthly allowance, New Telegraph reports. The ex-militants who are under the First Phase in Niger Delta, in Edo State, appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to prevail on Gen. Paul Boroh, to pay them their three months stipend of N65,000, which they claimed have been stopped. They stated that the non-payment of their monthly stipends is likely to disrupt the relative peace been experienced in the Nigerian Delta if urgent steps are not taken to immediately address the issue.  See photos:

Business FG To Ban Use Of SMS In Banking Transactions

Federal government may soon outlaw sending of vital bank details via short message services (SMS) in Nigeria because of its associated risks. The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has said it was already engaging with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to find better ways of doing it. Executive Vice Chairman, NCC, Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, made this known at the consumer conversation held in Minna, Niger State capital, adding that the commission was already engaging with the CBN to find ways to ensure that mobile phone users’ vital information relating to their bank accounts and financial transactions were not jeopardised should their phones get lost or stolen. The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has said that there was no policy for issuance of visa on arrival Africans visiting the country. A statement by the Service’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Sunday James, an Assistant Comptroller of Immigration (ACI), said the clarification had become necessary, in view of a “recently circulated visa policy”.
