Politics Buhari Discusses With Cote D'Ivoire President, Quattara Behind Closed Door In Aso Rock

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday met behind closed door with visiting President Alassane Quattara of Cote D’Ivoire at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Quattara, who arrived the Presidential Villa at about 12.15 p.m., was introduced to some cabinet ministers and presidential aides by President Buhari before the commencement of their meeting.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the two presidents are meeting officially for the first time since the inauguration of President Buhari’s administration on May 29, 2017.

Quattara, had on April 20, 2015, met with Buhari, then, as President-Elect, shortly after a meeting with former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Edo Election: NSCDC Deploys 15,250 Personnel To Monitor Polls

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps said that it deployed 15, 250 personnel to Edo for the governorship election in the state on Wednesday. The acting Deputy Commandant-General (Operations) of the corps, Mr Hillary Madu, made this known at a news conference on Tuesday in Benin. He said that the personnel had arrived in the state, adding that they comprised 15, 000 armed and unarmed officers and additional 250 “special squad drawn from the specialised units of the corps. Madu said the specialised units included Special Weapon and Tactics, Kernel, Counter Terrorism and Undercover. He said the officers would work in synergy with other security agencies to ensure a free, fair and credible election. Madu said that five commandants of the corps from commands in neighbouring states had been deployed to coordinate the operations of the personnel during the polls.

Metro Biafra: South East Governors Never Declared IPOB A Terrorist Organization - Gov Ikpeazu

Abia state Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, has said that South-East Governors only banned the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), but did not declare it a terrorist organization. He stated this while speaking on The Osasu Show, where he also explained that the Governors only proscribed the activities of the group, to douse tension in the region. Ikpeazu warned that labelling IPOB a terrorist organisation has far-reaching consequences. “Put the action of the south-east governors within context. DISTURBING: Ex Army Officer Kills 12 at Daughter's Wedding Ceremony

A wedding ceremony in Yemen has turned into a murder scene following the killing of 12 men by the father of the bride. Officials and a relative of the family said the father of the bride, a "mentally disturbed retired army officer" hurled two grenades, killing eight women, four children and himself.
