A civil society organization, under the aegis of Forum for Good Governance and Probity (FGGP), has described the former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, as one of the court jesters of the ex-President Goodluck Jonathan. According to the group, Fani-Kayode had constantly demonstrated he was not only hungry but also possessed crude, witless and uncultured mannerism. Former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Farida Waziri has said she is thankful former President Goodluck Jonathan kicked her out of office. According to a statement on Sunday, Waziri said this during an interaction with journalists at an unnamed event, which she attended in Lagos at the weekend. President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday assured of an improved education sector during his opening remarks at the presidential summit on education. The event held at the Old Banquet Hall of the presidential villa in Abuja. In his speech, Buhari “congratulated the Minister of Education and the entire education family for setting the stage for this national conversation aimed at refocusing the education sector not only to overcome the numerous challenges, but also to strengthen the Ministerial Strategic Plan.” Noting that the significance of the summit is obvious, Buhari added that it is those who acquire the most qualitative education, equipped with requisite skills and training, and empowered with practical know-how that are leading others. President Muhammadu Buhari will tomorrow (Tuesday) commence a two-day visit to South-eastern part of the country to commission some projects and flyovers. The President will visit Ebonyi and end its visitation to Anambra on Wednesday.   The Ebonyi state governor, David Umahi last week told state house correspondents that the people of the state are “fully prepared” to receive the president. He said Buhari would commission some projects carried out by his administration during the visit, including roads and flyovers.

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to stay away from Biafraland, else there will be bloodshed. Buhari is scheduled to visit Ebonyi state on Tuesday, and Anambra the day after. In a statement issued on Monday, Emma Powerful, IPOB spokesman, said: “we (IPOB members) will die with him should he set his foot on the sacred land of Biafra”. “Tuesday 14th November 2017 will be recorded in history as a very bloody day should that Jubril masquerading as Buhari attempt to land on Biafran soil,” the statement read. “He is coming to mock us and to urinate on the graves of our 91 brethren his Operation Python Dance killed in Abia State. He is coming to show us that power belongs to the north and people like Nnia Nwodo and Dave Umahi are in charge over their conquered territory and defeated people of Biafra.  He has come to tell us we are forever slaves.”

Femi Fani-Kayode, on Sunday insisted that the Nigerian Army kidnapped the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu from his home. However, Fani-Kayode, who took to his Twitter handle described the actions of soldiers, who allegedly “abducted” Kanu as “heartless and unacceptable.” He wrote: “IPOB leader Nnamdi Nnamdi’s home was attacked, his staff, friends and supporters were slaughtered, his siblings were maimed, his parents were brutalised, his dogs were shot, his cars were burnt and he was abducted by the Nigerian Army. President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday backed Governor Nasir El-Rufai's competency test for teachers in Kaduna. The competency test has generated a lot of controversy owing to mass sack of over 20,000 teachers in the state who failed the primary four test. President Buhari, who opened a Special Retreat of the Federal Executive Council on the challenges facing Nigeria's education sector in Abuja, said there is urgent need for comprehensive national reform. The President while touchong on the Kaduna situation, said: “It's a very serious situation when teachers cannot pass the exams they're supposed to administer to their students. “It underscores the urgent need for comprehensive national reform. “Governor El-Rufai is trying to implement important reforms”, the president said.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has described ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo as the boss of bosses in the Nigerian political space. Jonathan said any “politician who ignores Obasanjo does so at its own peril,” advising ex-Vice-President Atiku Abubakar to find a way of courting his former boss, if he (Atiku) must realise his presidential ambition. He maintained that it would be impossible for Atiku to realise his presidential ambition on the platform of the All Progressives Congress. According to Jonathan, Atiku’s chances of becoming President in 2019 would be bright if he contested on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party. The Indigenous People of Biafra on Sunday described as false the allegation that the group intended to disrupt the November 18 governorship election in Anambra State. In a statement made in Awka, Anambra State by the group’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, said the instruction to its members and others was for them to boycott the poll not to disrupt it. He said the concept of disrupting the poll was being propagated by some South-East leaders to discredit IPOB. Two Nigerian Airports have been ranked among the world's most worst 20 airport. These are: Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa and Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos. This is outcome of a survey by renowned aviation organization, Sleep in Airport (sleepinairports.net). The website ranked Lagos the fifth worst airport in the world, while Port Harcourt was ranked the third worst airport globally. The criteria used included comfort (gate seating and availability of rest zones), services, facilities and things to do, food options, immigration/security, customer service, cleanliness, navigation and ease of transit and sleepability. Federal government has stated that it can only cater for air ambulance for the ailing second Republic Vice President, Dr. Alex Ekwueme. Sources told Vanguard on Sunday that the Federal Government has reneged on its promise to bear the full cost of treatment and transportation of the elder statesman to a hospital in London, and referred the issue to the Anambra State government where Ekwueme hails from. An army general, Lym Hassan, who is currently undergoing a court-martial was secretly recorded allegedly threatening to “eliminate” President Muhammadu Buhari over a defence contract,  TheCable exclusively reports. Hassan, the coordinator of peace keeping at the ministry of defence, was arraigned before the military court on October 30, 2017 and charged with two allegations: spreading rumours that Buhari was dead and demanding $600,000 bribe from a defence contractor. The controversial Radio Biafra, the mouthpiece of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), reportedly hit the airwaves about 6am-7am on Sunday morning. According to Independent Newspaper report, the radio immediately announced the sack of Nnamdi Kanu, as director and leader of IPOB. The newspaper reported that the Radio Biafra’s programme started with the lady announcer, who gave her name as Ifeoma Okorafor, stating that the radio was back on air and that IPOB was restructuring.
