Politics Buhari Appoints Boss Mustapha To Replace Babachir Lawal As SGF

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Boss Mustapha as the new Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

The appointment takes immediate effect.

His appointment is coming after the sack of the suspended SGF, Babachir Lawal, over allegations of Northeast contract scam.

Politics NASS Begin Moves to Restructure Nigeria

The National Assembly has commenced moves to ensure the devolution of powers of the federating to state governments. In the ongoing constitution amendment, federal lawmakers plan to decongest the exclusive legislative list by transferring certain items contained therein to the concurrent list, thereby enabling the states to make laws in respect of those items. Leadership says this is according to a document titled, ‘A Bill For An Act to alter the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 to move certain items to the Concurrent Legislative List to give more legislative powers to States; and for related matters’. Metro Biafra: What the Constitution Says About Referendum - Presidency

The Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Prosecution, Chief Okoi Obono-Obla has said the call by the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu and others for referendum was a wasted effort, and without sense.   Speaking with The Sun, the Presidential aide noted that restructuring would not solve the myriad of problems confronting the nation. He said, “The demand for a referendum with regards to Biafra is a constitutional impossibility. “It is a legal and political impossibility.
