Image
The Adamawa state police command has confirmed the death of a patrol policeman along the Wuro-Dole-Pariya Road in Girei Local Government area of the state on Thursday. According to the state's police spokesman, SP Othman Abubakar, the policeman shot a passenger when a misunderstanding arose between a patrol team and some passengers. This enraged a mob who mobbed the inspector to death. His remains along with eight rounds of live ammunition have been recovered, he said, leaving out the reason he was mobbed. An eyewitness, who simply identified himself as Sadiq, said that the incident followed a disagreement over a N50 bribe. The driver of the bus offered N50 but the policeman wanted N100. A passenger challenged them and that led to a hot argument and the shooting of the passenger and injuring of another by the inspector. “Angry about what happened, a mob attacked the inspector who was trying to escape and lynched him,” Sadiq said. Politics NNPC: Maikanti Baru Should be Punished For Disrespecting Kachikwu- Tsav

Image
Alhaji Abubakar Tsav has reacted to the leadership tussle between Ibe Kachikwu and Maikanti Baru in the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC. According to him, Mr. Baru should be punished for insubordination. “I think the GMD of NNPC has made a very serious mistake because he is answerable to the minister. If I were the minister, I would have issued a query to the GMD asking him to explain why such things happened. And the query would also be copied to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. "If the man did it because he is close to the President, it is wrong because the President has confidence in Kachikwu which made him to appoint him. If I were the President, I will either redeploy him or sanction him to send a message across that it is wrong to undermine supervisory superiors.” Attached Files: ibe ka.jpg File size: 101.1 KB
