Politics NNPC: Maikanti Baru Should be Punished For Disrespecting Kachikwu- Tsav

Alhaji Abubakar Tsav has reacted to the leadership tussle between Ibe Kachikwu and Maikanti Baru in the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC.

According to him, Mr. Baru should be punished for insubordination.

“I think the GMD of NNPC has made a very serious mistake because he is answerable to the minister. If I were the minister, I would have issued a query to the GMD asking him to explain why such things happened. And the query would also be copied to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

"If the man did it because he is close to the President, it is wrong because the President has confidence in Kachikwu which made him to appoint him. If I were the President, I will either redeploy him or sanction him to send a message across that it is wrong to undermine supervisory superiors.”

Mild drama on Friday as senior official of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, said plans have been put in place for officials to "sleep with" corps members on the eve of the Anambra gubernatorial election. While addressing civil society at a dialogue in Abuja, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of Anambra, Dr Nkwachukwu Orji said INEC is ready for the election to the last detail. However, his choice of "sleep with" caused a little drama in the hall, but he was quick to clarify that he meant the officials and corpers to be deployed for the election, would "sleep in the same place" on the eve of the election. Participants laughed at this even as the convener of the dialogue, the Executive Director of Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre (PLAC), Clement Nwankwo joked that only those with dirty minds would interpret Orji's words with cynical interests. The man according to reports allegedly got stuck while attempting to steal building materials from a site in Akwa Ibom state. Narrating the incident, Facebook user Dominic Esifa wrote: "Residents of Esuk Oro, Oron woke up this morning to meet this man Effiong from Udung Okung stuck to building materials he was attempting to steal in a site.
