Metro N13bn Ikoyi Cash: EFCC Lied, I Am Not A Millionaire, Yet To Be Paid – Whistle-blower Speaks

The whistle blower that that helped in the recovery of $43.5 million, £27,800 and N23.2 million at No. 16 Osborne Road, Flat 7B Osborne Towers in Ikoyi, Lagos, has said he is yet to be paid his due reward five months after a court ordered a final forfeiture of the money.

Reacting to a claim by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission that his client is now a millionaire, the lawyer, Yakubu Galadima, disclosed to Premium Times on Friday that several efforts to get the money have been unsuccessful.

“The truth is that this guy has not been paid a penny,” Mr. Galadima said.

“In fact, from April till date, the guy has been living under my meagre resources, his security was just zero. I’ve had to relocate this guy from one place to another so nobody knows his whereabouts.”

Prices of Beans, Local Rice, Others Crash by 50% in Bauchi

Prices of food items in Bauchi State have continued crash after months of soaring food prices. Checks in some of the major markets in the state by DailyTrust revealed that prices of food items have reduced by about 50 percent. A bag of maize which few months ago was going for N18,000 now sells for N9,000 while local rice that used to cost N35,000 is now being sold at N20,000, a grain seller at Muda Lawal Market, Bauchi, Malam Adamu Kafin Maigari said. He also said that a bag of Beans is now sold at N16,000 from its previous price of N25,000, while a bag of millet and white rice popularly called Shinkafar Tuwo, now cost N9,000 and N20,000 respectively from their previous prices of N15,000 and N37,000.
