Politics Saraki Lists 9 Senators To Conduct Holistic Investigation Into NNPC

Nigerian Senate on Wednesday moved to conduct holistic investigation into alleged corruption in the Nigerian national petroleum corporation.

Saraki listed the following as members of the committee to carry out the investigation:

Senator Aliyu Wamakko as chairman.

Senator Tayo Alasoadura,

Kabir Marafa,

Akpan Bassey,

Sam Anyanwu,

Ahmed Ogembe,

Chukwuka Utazi,

Rose Oko and

Baba Kaka as members of the Committee to investigate the NNPC group

The Senate President said: “We must investigate this allegation and hope the quality of report will meet the standard we have set in the 8th Senate.”

Mild drama on Friday as senior official of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, said plans have been put in place for officials to "sleep with" corps members on the eve of the Anambra gubernatorial election. While addressing civil society at a dialogue in Abuja, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of Anambra, Dr Nkwachukwu Orji said INEC is ready for the election to the last detail. However, his choice of "sleep with" caused a little drama in the hall, but he was quick to clarify that he meant the officials and corpers to be deployed for the election, would "sleep in the same place" on the eve of the election. Participants laughed at this even as the convener of the dialogue, the Executive Director of Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre (PLAC), Clement Nwankwo joked that only those with dirty minds would interpret Orji's words with cynical interests. Man Gets Stuck On a Spot While Attempting To Steal Building Materials [PHOTOS]

The man according to reports allegedly got stuck while attempting to steal building materials from a site in Akwa Ibom state. Narrating the incident, Facebook user Dominic Esifa wrote: "Residents of Esuk Oro, Oron woke up this morning to meet this man Effiong from Udung Okung stuck to building materials he was attempting to steal in a site.
