Politics Fani Kayode Knocks VP Osinbajo Over Anti-Goodluck Jonathan Comments

Nigeria's former aviation minister, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted to claims made by vice president Yemi Osinbajo that Goodluck Jonathan spent N100bn, $256m in two weeks before the 2015 elections.

He said the Vice President is a liar. He said:

"According to @ProfOsinbajo, @GEJonathan "doled out 100 billion naira and $295 million in 2 weeks just before the 2015 elections".This is false.The VP has turned himself into a pernicious and unrepentant liar and a peddler of falsehood just for a tiny morsel at Buhari's table."

Nigerian naira depreciated by 1.49% against United States Dollar to close at N312.98 at the Inter-bank foreign exchange market. At the parallel market, the currency down to N452.00 to the dollar as shortages on the official market persist, funneling importers to the unofficial market, amidst declining currency reserves in Africa’s biggest economy. The President, Association of Bureau De Change Operators of Nigeria (ABCON), Mr. Aminu Gwadabe, argued that the current rate of the naira on the parallel market was not a true reflection of the value of the currency. President Buhari Gets $1bn Loan From Akinwunmi Adesina's led AfDB

The African Development Bank (AfDB) has approved $1 billion loan towards meeting the deficits in Nigeria’s 2016 Budget, believed to partly responsible for the country’s economic crisis. AfDB President, Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina, disclosed these to State House correspondents on Monday after meeting with Vice President and other members of the Economic Management Team (EMT) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Stressing that Nigeria is the largest shareholder of the bank, Akinwunmi said the bank is in Nigeria to offer its strong support to the country as it faces tough time. Prices of Beans, Local Rice, Others Crash by 50% in Bauchi

Prices of food items in Bauchi State have continued crash after months of soaring food prices. Checks in some of the major markets in the state by DailyTrust revealed that prices of food items have reduced by about 50 percent. A bag of maize which few months ago was going for N18,000 now sells for N9,000 while local rice that used to cost N35,000 is now being sold at N20,000, a grain seller at Muda Lawal Market, Bauchi, Malam Adamu Kafin Maigari said. He also said that a bag of Beans is now sold at N16,000 from its previous price of N25,000, while a bag of millet and white rice popularly called Shinkafar Tuwo, now cost N9,000 and N20,000 respectively from their previous prices of N15,000 and N37,000. He attributed the crash in prices to the bumper harvest recorded in the country following the massive engagement in farming by many people.
