Politics Car Gift: Aisha Buhari Reacts To Senator Misau's Allegation

Aisha, wife of Nigeria's President, Muhammadu Buhari has faulted claims by Senator Hamman Misau that the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris bought 2 SUVs for her.

Senator Misau made the claim when he appeared before the senate committee probing the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris.

According to him, the First Lady had requested, through her Aide de Camp, ADC, for a Sienna and Hiace, but he (IGP) bought two Prado SUVs, which were not in the budget, for the First Lady.

“The Inspector- General of Police gave the First Lady, wife of the President, two SUVs and this came through a letter from the ADC to the First Lady who requested on her behalf that she needed a Sienna and Hiace for personal use, but she was given the two SUVs for her private use.”

But Aisha Buhari in a twitter post on Thursday said she is still using his personal cars.

“I am still using my personal cars”, she tweeted.

President Buhari Gets $1bn Loan From Akinwunmi Adesina's led AfDB

The African Development Bank (AfDB) has approved $1 billion loan towards meeting the deficits in Nigeria’s 2016 Budget, believed to partly responsible for the country’s economic crisis. Prices of Beans, Local Rice, Others Crash by 50% in Bauchi

Prices of food items in Bauchi State have continued crash after months of soaring food prices. Checks in some of the major markets in the state by DailyTrust revealed that prices of food items have reduced by about 50 percent. A bag of maize which few months ago was going for N18,000 now sells for N9,000 while local rice that used to cost N35,000 is now being sold at N20,000, a grain seller at Muda Lawal Market, Bauchi, Malam Adamu Kafin Maigari said. He also said that a bag of Beans is now sold at N16,000 from its previous price of N25,000, while a bag of millet and white rice popularly called Shinkafar Tuwo, now cost N9,000 and N20,000 respectively from their previous prices of N15,000 and N37,000. He attributed the crash in prices to the bumper harvest recorded in the country following the massive engagement in farming by many people.
