Politics Buhari Urged To Reshuffle Kitchen Cabinet Immediately

President Muhammadu Buhari has been urged to immediately reshuffle his kitchen cabinet, following the scandal surrounding the reinstatement of the dismissed former Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, Abdulrasheed Maina, into the Federal Civil Service.

The Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN), in a statement issued on Wednesday, by its Secretary-General, Comrade Alade Bashir Lawal, expressed sadness that Maina, sacked in 2013 for sharp practices in respect of about N2 billion pension funds, was smuggled back into the Federal Civil Service by key Government Officials close to Mr President.

He said: ‘’If the President does not act to replace some of his personal aides that are besmearing the image of his government, the impression will continue to be created that he may be privy to their ignoble acts.

‘’Besides, apart from dismissing Abdulrasheed Maina from Service, relevant Government Agencies should take necessary steps to bring him to justice,’’ the Union added.

Mild drama on Friday as senior official of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, said plans have been put in place for officials to "sleep with" corps members on the eve of the Anambra gubernatorial election. While addressing civil society at a dialogue in Abuja, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of Anambra, Dr Nkwachukwu Orji said INEC is ready for the election to the last detail. However, his choice of "sleep with" caused a little drama in the hall, but he was quick to clarify that he meant the officials and corpers to be deployed for the election, would "sleep in the same place" on the eve of the election. The man according to reports allegedly got stuck while attempting to steal building materials from a site in Akwa Ibom state.
