Metro Charlyboy Sues Abuja Police, Demands N500m For Infringement of Rights

Maverick entertainer, Charles Oputa, popularly called Charlyboy, has dragged the FCT Police Command before the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Maitama, Abuja.

The group is charging the Police over the harassment he and members of OurMumuDonDo as well as Concerned Nigerians, faced during the resume or resign protests.

Oputa is seeking a N500m redress for the infringement of his fundamental rights.

Edo Election: NSCDC Deploys 15,250 Personnel To Monitor Polls

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps said that it deployed 15, 250 personnel to Edo for the governorship election in the state on Wednesday. The acting Deputy Commandant-General (Operations) of the corps, Mr Hillary Madu, made this known at a news conference on Tuesday in Benin. He said that the personnel had arrived in the state, adding that they comprised 15, 000 armed and unarmed officers and additional 250 “special squad drawn from the specialised units of the corps. Madu said the specialised units included Special Weapon and Tactics, Kernel, Counter Terrorism and Undercover. He said the officers would work in synergy with other security agencies to ensure a free, fair and credible election. Madu said that five commandants of the corps from commands in neighbouring states had been deployed to coordinate the operations of the personnel during the polls.

So this is about the new N20 and N50 recharge cards, my discovery last week, while taking a walk through my neighbourhood. Strolls every Saturday morning, turns out to be a delight for me these days as humour lies in every street corner, there never seems to be a dull moment on the Lagos streets. Back to my discovery; the N20 and N50 recharge cards. Having walked through 3 streets, I decided to stop at a shop to have some water; As I gulped down the water I had just bought, a young lady came to make a purchase at the store. Well, I was not in a hurry to leave and so I stood by the corner waiting for my change while the store owner; a woman, attended to the lady. The lady handed her a N20 bill and requested for recharge card.
