Metro Charlyboy Sues Abuja Police, Demands N500m For Infringement of Rights

Maverick entertainer, Charles Oputa, popularly called Charlyboy, has dragged the FCT Police Command before the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Maitama, Abuja.

The group is charging the Police over the harassment he and members of OurMumuDonDo as well as Concerned Nigerians, faced during the resume or resign protests.

Oputa is seeking a N500m redress for the infringement of his fundamental rights.

Obasanjo Shocks The World, Says Jonathan Approved Toothpick Importation Without Reading

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, yesterday, shocked the world as he recalled how former President Goodluck Jonathan reversed ban on importation of toothpick without reading. Chief Obasanjo said this at the official opening of the National Council on Finance and Economic Development (NACOFED) in Abeokuta while explaining how ex-President, Jonathan caused economic recession in the country. Obasanjo, who was the Father of the Day at the opening session, said he had warned the former President on the impending recession in November 26, 2014 when he joined others to celebrate the birthday of retired Justice Akanbi. Obasanjo shocked the gathering when he recalled how it was discovered that the ban on the importation of toothpick was reversed by the Jonathan administration, saying he had visited Jonathan in Abuja to ask why he lifted the ban on toothpick and Jonathan said he did not read before he approved. Politics Jonathan 'Turns Down' Olisa Metuh's Request To Stand As His Witness

Former President, Goodluck Jonathan may have turned down a former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Olisa Metuh's subpoena as his defence witness. His lawyer, Dr. Onyechi Ikpeazu (SAN), told Justice Okon Abang that he had written Jonathan to that effect but that the former President did not reply. Ikpeazu said his intention was to apply for subpoena to be issued on Jonathan after the detained former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, earlier summoned to testify as Metuh’s witness ended his testimony.
