Metro Nigeria: N-Power Rolls Out New Recruitment Process

The Nigerian government graduate employment scheme, N-Power, recently re-opened its portals for a fresh intake of applications from 2017 candidates.

The application is expected to close on the 13th of July and millions of Nigerians have enrolled for the 300,000 slots.

On Friday, N-Power rolled out a new process it said it will follow for the current recruitment. This includes:

  • Application
  • BVN Validation
  • Test
  • Device Selection
  • Pre-selection
  • Physical verification
  • Selection
  • Deployment
This is to avoid some of the problems encountered during the 2016 recruitment process, N-Power said.

It added that only applicants whose BVN records match their applications will move to the assessment stage.

Edo Election: NSCDC Deploys 15,250 Personnel To Monitor Polls

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps said that it deployed 15, 250 personnel to Edo for the governorship election in the state on Wednesday. The acting Deputy Commandant-General (Operations) of the corps, Mr Hillary Madu, made this known at a news conference on Tuesday in Benin. He said that the personnel had arrived in the state, adding that they comprised 15, 000 armed and unarmed officers and additional 250 “special squad drawn from the specialised units of the corps. Madu said the specialised units included Special Weapon and Tactics, Kernel, Counter Terrorism and Undercover. He said the officers would work in synergy with other security agencies to ensure a free, fair and credible election. Madu said that five commandants of the corps from commands in neighbouring states had been deployed to coordinate the operations of the personnel during the polls.

Metro Biafra: South East Governors Never Declared IPOB A Terrorist Organization - Gov Ikpeazu

Abia state Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, has said that South-East Governors only banned the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), but did not declare it a terrorist organization. DISTURBING: Ex Army Officer Kills 12 at Daughter's Wedding Ceremony

A wedding ceremony in Yemen has turned into a murder scene following the killing of 12 men by the father of the bride. Officials and a relative of the family said the father of the bride, a "mentally disturbed retired army officer" hurled two grenades, killing eight women, four children and himself. Eighteen others, including women and children, were wounded in the incident late Monday in the town of Yarim, in western Ibb province, the official said.
